How many times do we have to wait at the airport before getting on the plane? Surely too many. And time passes really slowly when you’re waiting in the airport lounge as it’s monotonous and uncomfortable. Nuca Studio has changed this concept with their design of the departures terminal of Henri Coanda International Airport in Romania. They have created a positive and exciting space to capture the attention of travelers.
They have designed the airport lounge as if it was a living-room, trying to offer the best comfort. That is why the furniture is ergonomic, so that people can work with their laptops or tablets and feel comfortable enough to relax. Furthermore, the distribution and furniture material get to absorb the sound, reducing noise of the terminal to isolate users from anything that could bother them.
The color is essential in this interior design as they have used bright primary colors to give a playful character to the lounge, which together with the strong geometric lines provides users with happiness and positive vibes preparing them for the trip.
It’s a great idea to conceive it as a living-room, because many times people spend more time in this area than in the plane, so it’s important to make people feel cosy. Don’t you think that more attention should be paid to these kind of spaces?
